The Arbour is a small lantern that runs on its own battery: it stands on the table while you read, and when you go to bed you pick it up and take the light with you. One small warm point of light, exactly where you are.

Inside the base is a 2,600 mAh rechargeable battery, and a USB charging cable comes in the box. Once it is charged, nothing is attached to it. It can stand on a bedside table with no plug nearby, on the edge of a bath, on a windowsill or on a table outside the reach of any extension lead.

🏮 A frame you can hold
The frame is aluminium in a gold finish: a set of arched ribs that rise from the round base and meet over the top, around a core that does the glowing. It reads as a lantern rather than a lamp, which is why it looks at home on a laid table as much as on a nightstand.
